The manager of the Saints Foundation, Greg Baker, presented a cheque to Charity representative Linda Beadle pitch side at the last match of the season on 16 May where Saints beat Aston Villa 6-1. This represented a very happy day both for the charity and Southampton FC! The presentation follows closely behind the announcement that Kelvin Davis, Saint's goalkeeper and club captain, had agreed to be the charity's patron. The Saints Foundation had decided to choose us as their official charity partner for the 2014/15 season - a relationship we hope to sustain into the future.
The Foundation raised a total of £20,000 to the charity and started their fundraising by auctioning their boots at the end of last season at the players dinner followed by our sky dive later last year.
We are extremely grateful to Southampton Football Club and the Saints Foundation for the commitment they have shown over the past year. The funds will go a long way towards progressing the important research launched this year and reported in "Latest News" earlier.
