For the second year running, on the 11th September, Owtons (Family Butchers & Wholesalers from West End) sponsored a Charity Golf Day for the Liver and Pancreatic R&D Cancer Charity, held at the Wellow Golf Club at East Wellow, Romsey.
The day was supported by 22 teams, and started with a Texas Scramble followed by bacon butties, before teams went on to play 18 holes. The putting competition was sponsored by Howdens of Eastleigh. Spot yourself in the picture gallery and thanks for your support!
An evening meal was enjoyed by the exhausted players, and money was raised for the day with raffle and auction prizes donated by friends and local businesses. Individual and team prizes were presented to the winners by Billy Owton.
The whole day was successfully organised again by Mr Dave Thebe, who presented a cheque for £4,257.35 to the charity at our "Bat and Ball" evening on 24th October held, for the first time, at the Ageas Hilton Hotel, Eastleigh - home of Hampshire cricket club.
